n 2024, around 4,000 fans celebrated the 22nd Spencer/Hill Festival over two days at the Festhalle Ilmenau.
The event — filled with music, even more films, and perhaps the hungriest fans in the world — sold out as quickly as the city’s famous Thuringian sausages.
Even before the festival ended, there wasn’t a single Bratwurst left to buy anywhere in Ilmenau – they’d eaten them all!
Local restaurateurs and food vendors would therefore be well advised to stock up generously on their delicious Thüringer sausages for early September, because the next edition of this success story will be bigger than ever — much bigger!

A total of up to 20,000 visitors are expected on the festival grounds, which will cover 16,000 square meters, three times larger than the previous year.
The celebration will also last two extra days, thanks to the addition of a Thursday Warm-Up Party and a Family Sunday.
For the first time, the parking areas and the adjacent park around the Festhalle Ilmenau will also be included in the festival layout.

On the huge stage on Naumannstraße, various bands will perform — the same artists who provided the legendary soundtracks for many Spencer/Hill films.
There will also be a U.S. car parade through the city, and in a specially built competition arena, rival teams will face off in the premiere of the spectacular “Hector Games”, featuring swords, battle axes, and morning stars...

There will also be free attractions for everyone, where visitors can test their strength or go treasure hunting.
Naturally, the festival cinema will feature many Spencer/Hill film classics, including “Flatfoot on the Nile”, “Bomber”, and “All the Way, Boys!”.

Bud Spencer (Carlo Pedersoli †2016) and Terence Hill (Mario Girotti) appeared together in 18 legendary films between 1959 and 1994 — full of jokes, brawls, and unforgettable moments.
Among them were box office hits like “Trinity Is Still My Name” (1971), which remains one of the most successful films of all time in Germany.
Bud Spencer also starred in almost 50 additional films, and Terence Hill in over 60.
With their Italian Westerns, comedies, and action movies, the duo shaped more than one generation, and are still celebrated today as a cultural heritage phenomenon.
